Save the date to attend one of our preschool and kindergarten application clinics!

This helps us to accurately plan for the upcoming year. You may attend any of the dates listed, even if it is not at the school you plan for your child to attend. Our teachers and secretaries will ensure your information is shared with the correct school building. If you have a current Buhler preschool student who will be 5 prior to September 1st and headed to kindergarten next year, you will NOT need to attend. Be on the lookout for enrollment paperwork in your child's backpack!

Attend any of these times:
Monday, March 9: Plum Creek 5:00-7:00
Monday, March 23: Union Valley 5:00-7:00
Monday, March 30: Buhler Grade 5:00-7:00

Please bring a copy of your student’s state issued birth certificate, Immunization Records, Student Health Assessment and Proof of Residency (water, power or gas bill, rental agreement, etc.)

See our preschool web page with more information here:

All activities for Saturday and Sunday (January 24-25) have been cancelled due to anticipated weather conditions. Athletic activities scheduled for Friday evening will continue as planned. Buhler facilities will be closed to outside practices and events on Saturday and Sunday. These decisions are being made with the safety of our students, staff, and community in mind. Keeping traffic out of parking lots and off sidewalks will also help ensure safe and efficient snow removal.

Our members felt the love from our Crusaders at Union Valley and Plum Creek. Check out these pics! Hopefully they put a smile on your face as big as it did our BOE members Monday night.

Dear Buhler Community,

We know that many individuals and families in our school community are feeling the strain of rising costs, reduced benefits, and the upcoming holiday season. During times like these, the strength of our Buhler community truly shines when we come together to care for one another.

Beginning next week, we invite families and community members who are able to do so to donate a “Meal in a Bag” to help provide food support for others in our community. Each meal includes simple ingredients that can be found via the “dinner in a bag” link located on this document: https://5il.co/3rtj9. You will also see additional food resources for those in need. See the picture for one example of these meals.

Donations may be dropped off at any Buhler school, the district office, or sent with your student beginning Tuesday, November 4th. At this time, we will accept meal in a bag donations through Thanksgiving break. Meal kits will be sent home with families who have requested food support via an internal and confidential survey.

Thank you for embodying what it means to be part of the Buhler family, a community that cares deeply for one another.

On Wednesday, we hosted our first-ever Leadership Development Day for our 4th and 5th grade Cru Leaders — students in grades 3–5 who apply to demonstrate leadership in their schools.

The day included leadership and team-building games, training on leading by example and with our voices, a guest speaker, and even a handshake competition. Congratulations to Kinley, our first-ever handshake champion! Students are now ready to take these skills back to their schools and lead with confidence.

A huge thank-you to our Cru Leader Sponsors for designing meaningful activities, our amazing parent volunteers, and guest speaker Shane Iwashige, a certified leadership coach with the Kansas Leadership Center.

It was a fantastic day, and we’re already excited for next year!

One of our greatest privileges is celebrating the exceptional instruction happening in our classrooms. Today was extra special as it was the day to inform three teachers that they are our nominees for a state level award!

Mrs. Sarah Jane Seifreid, Plum Creek music teacher, is our nominee for the Kansas Horizon Award, which recognizes second year teachers who distinguished themselves during their very first year in the profession.

Our elementary nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Sarah Cherry, preschool teacher at Plum Creek.

Our secondary nominee for Kansas Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Deanna Herrin, math teacher at Buhler High School.

Kansas Teacher of the Year nominees apply to compete with others from our region, and ultimately to be THE Kansas Teacher of the Year. Horizon Award nominees also submit an application and compete against others from our region.

Join us in celebrating these three exceptional educators and wish them luck as they submit their applications!
